Sauna Batam is a sauna builder Batam households, resort operators and expatriate managers can deal with entirely in English. We design, fabricate and install dry saunas, infrared cabins, steam rooms and cold plunges for villas in Nongsa, hotels in Nagoya and cluster homes in Batam Centre. Indicative IDR 15-300 million, one day to eight weeks.
Products
Six products from one workshop in Batam Kota
From a prefab cabin at IDR 15 million to a commercial sauna for hotels and gyms with a matching cold plunge beside it.

Dry sauna
A 70-90 degree timber cabin with a 3.6-9 kW heater, built to the room you already have rather than to a catalogue size.
IDR 60-120 million
Villa luxury sauna
Glass-fronted cabins in thermowood for pool decks and terraces, designed so the view carries and the salt air does not win.
IDR 80-150 million
Prefab sauna cabin
A finished two-person cabin from our workshop, carried in, connected and heated the same day; movable when you move.
IDR 15-35 million
Infrared sauna
A one to two person carbon-panel cabin at 45-60 degrees that runs on 2,200-5,500 VA and goes in over a single day.
IDR 30-70 million
Steam room
A 40-45 degree room at close to full humidity, tanked, tiled and fitted with a 6-9 kW generator and a sloped ceiling.
IDR 50-100 million
Ice bath
A timber tub with a chiller that takes 30 degree tap water down to single figures and keeps it there without a single bag of ice.
IDR 45-90 millionWhy the cold plunge sells before the sauna here
Batam moves between 24 and 35 degrees all year, humidity sits somewhere between 73 and 96 per cent, and the water leaving your tap is around 30 degrees. In that climate the thing people crave is not heat but cold: eight to twelve degrees after a run along the Coastarina waterfront, after a gym session in Batam Centre, or before guests catch the last ferry back. Heat still earns its place, but as an evening ritual - fifteen minutes at 80 degrees, straight into cold water, then sleep.
The market is unlike anywhere else in Indonesia. Ferries from Singapore reach Batam Centre, Sekupang and Harbour Bay in 45 to 70 minutes, and Tanah Merah to Nongsapura takes roughly 45. Weekend visitors arrive with expectations set by health clubs at home: a hot room, a steam room and something cold to drop into afterwards. Villas along the Nongsa coast and resorts out towards Barelang that offer all three quote a different weekend rate, and they know it.
Housing here splits into clear types. Pool villas in Nongsa run on 11,000 VA or three phase. Two-storey cluster houses in Batam Centre, Sukajadi and Orchard Park sit on 2,200-5,500 VA. Apartments in Nagoya and Jodoh come with lift restrictions and loading hours. Older houses in Tiban and Sekupang have the floor area but not the supply. And because the island is a free trade zone, an imported Harvia heater or a pallet of red cedar arrives without the duty and tax layer that applies on the mainland, which makes Batam one of the few places in the country where the equipment is the easy part of the job.
Four details that decide how long a cabin lasts here
Lining panel, 50 mm rockwool, an aluminium foil vapour barrier taped at every seam, a 20 mm ventilation gap, then cedar. Skip the foil or the gap and island humidity puts mould inside the wall within two or three years.
Sea air eats ordinary screws. On coastal work the hinges, brackets and fixings are stainless, outdoor cabins get a roof against rain and ultraviolet, and the plunge chiller stands in shade with clear airflow around the condenser.
A 6-9 kW heater needs 7,700-11,000 VA, so a 2,200-5,500 VA house has to move up a tier. We run heat-resistant SiHF cable on a dedicated breaker with an ELCB; the upgrade fee itself is paid by the owner.
Harvia, Sawo and Tylo with one to two years factory warranty. Elements, stones and controllers stay in our Batam Kota store, so a service call does not wait on cargo from Jakarta.
Areas
Where we work on the island
Five zones with different problems: coastal villas in Nongsa, hotels in Nagoya and Jodoh, clusters in Batam Centre and Sukajadi, older houses in Sekupang and Tiban, resorts out along the Barelang bridges.

How a project runs, from first message to first heat-up
The same eight steps whether it is a villa deck in Nongsa or a spare room in Batu Aji, and nothing is billed until you approve the quote.
Say which district or estate you are in and what you have in mind. A manager calls back the same day, in English.
Three to five shots of the room or deck plus the consumer unit. That is usually enough for a first price range.
We measure on site in Nongsa, Nagoya, Batam Centre, Sekupang or Batu Aji, normally within one to three working days.
You receive a view of the finished cabin in your own space and a line-by-line quote with the sea freight window already in it.
Approving the quote releases the heater and timber order and books your slot in the workshop calendar.
Wall panels, aspen or abachi benches, frames and plunge tubs are built and dry-assembled here before anything travels.
On site from one day for infrared to eight weeks for commercial work, including wiring, ventilation and tanking.
We fire the cabin with you, check temperature and humidity, test the ELCB, then hand over the two-year structural warranty.
Frequently asked questions
Do you work in English, or only in Bahasa Indonesia?
English is a first-choice language on this island and it is how most of our resort and expatriate work is handled. Surveys, drawings, the itemised quote and the warranty document can all be in English, while the crew on site is local. Company details are on the about page.
What does a home sauna cost on Batam?
A prefab cabin runs IDR 15-35 million delivered and installed, a custom 2x2 m four-person room IDR 60-120 million, and a roofed outdoor cabin for a villa deck IDR 80-150 million. All indicative; the fixed quote follows the free survey. The tables are on the pricing page.
We run a resort in Nongsa. Can you work around guests?
Yes, and it is most of what we do. Panels and benches are fabricated in Batam Kota and arrive finished, so the noisy phase happens in the workshop rather than beside your rooms. Commercial work takes four to eight weeks and can be split into phases around occupancy.
Our cluster house in Batam Centre has 5,500 VA. Is that enough?
For a two-person cabin at 3.6 kW, yes. For an infrared cabin at 1.7-2.4 kW, comfortably. A four-person room with a 6 kW heater needs an upgrade to 7,700 VA with PLN Batam, and we work out the load with you before you settle on a size.
Tap water arrives at 30 degrees. Will a cold plunge really hold 10?
It will. A 1 HP plunge chiller pulls a 300-400 litre tub from 30 degrees down to 10 over the first few hours, then holds it with an insulated body and a lid. For a gym or resort with back-to-back users we size the chiller again around the turnover.
Do you cross to Bintan and Tanjungpinang?
Yes, on request. The crew crosses by ferry from Telaga Punggur or Batam Centre and materials follow as cargo. Crossing and accommodation appear as their own line in the quote rather than being buried in the cabin price.

Tell us about the room and we will send a range
Give us the district or the name of the estate and what you are planning. A manager calls back the same day, in English, and books the free survey.
Send three photos and we will send a range back
A villa in Nongsa, a health club in Nagoya or an empty room in a Sukajadi cluster: three photos and your VA rating are enough for a first estimate.
