What actually separates a wet room from a dry one

Temperature and water, mainly. A steam room sits at 40-45 degrees with the air close to saturated, gentler to breathe in but far less forgiving to build: every surface has to be waterproof, the floor has to fall toward a drain, and the ceiling has to slope so condensation runs down the wall instead of dripping straight onto whoever is underneath.

That makes the build sequence closer to bathroom work than carpentry. A tanking membrane goes over the substrate first, then mosaic or large-format tile, a seat built into the structure itself, a sealed glass door, and a 6-9 kW generator positioned where a technician can actually reach it later. A dry cabin and a wet room happily share a wall, and in hotel work they usually do exactly that.

The generator and the meter it actually needs

A 6-9 kW steam generator draws the same 7,700-11,000 VA tier as a mid-size dry sauna heater, which means most cluster houses need a PLN Batam upgrade first, paid for by the owner. Cabling stays heat-resistant on its own breaker with an ELCB, and the generator itself sits in a ventilated cupboard within a sensible pipe run of the room it serves.

Water quality is really what decides how long a generator lasts here. Island supply carries sediment, so a filter goes on the feed as standard and a descaling routine gets specified at handover rather than left to chance.
