When does a prefab sauna in Batam beat a custom build?
When the room is not yours to alter, when the supply will not move, or when you want the thing working this month. Expatriate managers renting in Nagoya and Jodoh take a prefab cabin precisely because it can be unbolted and taken to the next apartment. Rental villas out towards Barelang take one because the season starts in a fortnight.
A custom room still wins on fit and on capacity. If you want four to six seats, a glazed front or a cabin that follows an awkward corner, look at the custom dry sauna instead. The prefab exists so that a home sauna is not restricted to people who can rebuild a bathroom.
Why order a prefab sauna built on Batam rather than a kit from Java?
The kits sold online arrive as sea cargo, four to fourteen days, and then someone has to assemble them, wire them and stand behind them. Ours are built in Batam Kota, delivered on a small truck and installed by the people who cut the panels. Spare elements, stones and controllers sit in the same store, so a fault is a service visit rather than a fortnight of waiting.
Free trade zone status helps here too. The heater and the timber reach the island without the duty and tax layer that applies on the mainland, which is why a locally built cabin costs what it does even though the material is imported.
Power: 3.6 kW on the supply you already have
A 3.6 kW heater draws around 5,500 VA in practice, which is the connection most cluster houses in Batam Centre, Sukajadi, Batu Aji and Sagulung already hold. No PLN Batam upgrade, no application, no waiting. Older houses in Tiban on 2,200 VA are the exception and normally go infrared instead.
What we do add is a dedicated breaker with an ELCB and heat-resistant SiHF cable from the consumer unit, because a heater on a shared ring with the air conditioning is how breakers get nuisance-tripped. Ventilation matters as much: a supply vent low behind the heater and an extract high on the opposite wall.
Sizes, timber and how to order
A prefab sauna leaves our workshop at 1.5x1.2 m for two, with a 2x1.5 m version for three at a squeeze. Cladding is pinewood or Scandinavian spruce, benches aspen, door 8 mm tempered glass. Delivery is one to two weeks from the workshop, installation the same day it arrives if access is clear.

Frequently asked questions
Can the cabin move with me to another house?
Yes. The panels are bolted, not glued, so a two-person cabin comes apart in an afternoon and goes back together in another. Moving within the island is a service visit; we simply check the supply and ventilation at the new address.
Does an apartment need special ventilation?
It needs a path for air, not a duct through the facade. A low supply vent behind the heater and a high extract into the room usually satisfies both the cabin and the building manager, but confirm the house rules in Nagoya towers before ordering.
What is the difference between the 15-35 and the 55-70 million cabin?
Material and finish. The prefab uses standard panels and a stock layout; the 55-70 million two-person cabin is built to your dimensions in premium pinewood with better glazing, hardware and controls, and is quoted as a custom build.
Will it work in an older Tiban house on 2,200 VA?
Not the 3.6 kW prefab sauna. At 2,200 VA the sensible route is an infrared cabin at 1.7-2.4 kW, or an upgrade with PLN Batam first. We check the meter during the survey and say which of the two makes sense.
